Significance comes from a statistical test (the Mann–Kendall trend test, with p < 0.05 as the cutoff). Magnitude alone doesn't decide it: a small warming trend can be flagged significant when the year-to-year temperatures are steady, while a larger trend can read as not significant if the same park's weather swings widely from year to year. The test asks whether the upward trend stands out clearly above that natural variability.
